Guys and their hobbies...

I watch TV.

Well, I also watch movies, play xbox360, read books and blog. These are only a few of my normal, daily type hobbies. I really like trailer camping and riding my 4 wheeler. I don't do that nearly as often as I would like. We all have things that we do to make us happy.

Let's talk about what other's do.

This morning at 6:45 as I was leaving my home for work, I met some folks that I know coming back to the neighborhood dripping with sweat after what must have been a 30 mile bike ride. I once heard it said that people who run, bike and exercise are "adding 10 years to their life". I say, "Yes, but they are spending those ten years running!"

Moving on...

At about 7:20, I witnessed a young man floating in the lake north of Blackfoot, ID. His boat was just getting ready to take up the slack, and HIT IT! Out he came, on one ski, soaking wet and in the immediate wind made by his powerful boat. What dedication to his hobby! This dude is out in the lake before the temp was even over 70.

I guess the real trick is.... Find something you like to do, and do it! Maybe that skier had to go to work at 9:00. I know the bike riders are now (after about 2 years on a fitness kick) one of the hottest couples in our ward. Find your motivations, set your goals and go do it!

As for me, I am very much motivated to have a large bowl of Tillamook Chocolate Ice Cream, followed up with a movie tonight. I will be sure to accomplish that!

What motivates you? What are some of your hobbies?

I've discovered Pandora - the other one...

As I sit at a desk for most of my day now, I have started doing things that I have never been able to do before.

Disclosure: I have gone through all of the proper steps to now know my job and computer system for my employer. I am in a sales driven business, and contrary to popular belief, we don't have customer's sitting in front of us every hour of every day. Also, because my integrity is important to me, you should also know that 90% of my income is tied to commissions, not a time clock. So - what I do at work is my business as long as I take care of my customer's when they are here!

As I was saying.... So, most days I get to look at all of my favorite blogs, check out the long and sometimes frivolous world of Facebook "Hey Jenny from high school that I haven't seen since graduation, you enjoy that Latte you are going to get for yourself and your BFF!" I check out business websites of competitors, our own website, etc. www.bishs.com (See, I told you I was at work!)

And then, one day, I was really bored. I realized that I needed some music. I had a friend tell me about www.pandora.com.

This website is cool. Basically, you create your own station. I am not sure how creating "Journey" station brought in all of the other "related" music that I have been able to obtain, but Pandora is "Smart". Journey music spawned other artists like Genesis, Survivor, Heart, Rush, etc. I can add other artists to my station - I added "The Who" Then Tom Petty songs started working into the mix as well as The Doors, Stones, Beatles. Then, some Coldplay song. What the Hell? The best part is the "thumbs down" icon. Click on that - No more Coldplay! Add Scorpions, get Metallica, Tesla, Ozzy added to the mix. Don't like Tesla, thumbs down 'em. You get the picture?

Ooooh, Speak to me/Breath by Floyd is playing right now. Run, Rabbit run! See? Cool stuff. So, if I could, I would light up a doobie and chill. Err, just kidding about the doobie.

Anyways, I am like a kid in a candy store.

Maybe this afternoon I will create a 80's hair metal station. Ooooh, the possibilities. I wonder if Mozart could have his own station......
