In the past 12 hours I have been called a "Troll" because of an opinion I left on a siblings FB post. So, I pose a question...... If you are willing to say it as a FB status, aren't you kind of sending out your feelings onto the World Wide Web? The "comment" button at the bottom of your status kind of invites a response. I sometimes post movie quotes, song lyrics, and opinions as my status to get reaction and feedback. I expect it. If you state..."Tomorrow my son will probably have sex" isn't it likely that everyone who knows your son will probably assume he is no longer a virgin?
Posting private info when you have 300 plus friends on FB is not exactly keeping your thoughts private. I am careful what I say around my closest friends in person due to the "loose lip" factor. So THIS BUGS!!! If you don't want feedback about anything you hold personal, don't post it on FB!!! By the way - the person who called me a "troll" was being a "troll" by calling me out. Whatever, dude.
Wow, now I wish I had been paying more attention.
ReplyDeleteI don't know specifically what you were referring to above, but I think that people can absolutely take things too seriously there. When it all comes down to it, nobody really cares about what anybody else posts there anyway.
I think facebook is quite often just a forum to display all the ways in which you can be pathetic. (not you, specifically, just people in general.)
Having said that, I, too, have a FB account. And I have made an ass of myself there and learned my lesson. I think.
ReplyDeleteA troll? IS that a bad thing? I don't do facebook much anymore as Tim has warned me about the wicked viruses lurking around any icon you might click on.
ReplyDeleteJust love my blogs, and now love that you are here, and IF you were a troll, you'd be Frodo, a Hobbit, not a troll anyway!
Happy birthday in 2 days!
